Chelsea

I am very homesick...not for home, but for my second oldest daughter. Yes, I miss her terribly.

It's funny when there home they're driving you crazy. She's been gone for 4 days and I have no contact with her at all!! She's at camp for 2 weeks! I don't know if I'm going to make it.

I went through this 2 years ago when my oldest went to college...cried like a baby every time I heard a song on the radio that reminded me of her.

I did get over it...eventually.

Chelsea is quite the character...she has a very strong personality always has. She had an attitude they moment she was born--no kidding at the age of 2 if I didn't put her socks on correctly or should I say perfectly she ripped those suckers off and re did it!

She's just so much fun.

If I wasn't her Mother I'd be her friend.

This is her last year at home, she's a senior this year.

Get me the Kleenex, I'll need it because it's the last for a lot of things...

Blast from the past 5-12-2003

I love looking at pictures and I was trying to find a picture with the whole family in it. So, here it is all the way back to 2003.

Where are all the family pictures? The older they get the harder it is to put them in one spot for a picture!

This was a fun day though. I am truly in my element out in the woods...I am a country girl, raised horses, mucked out the barn, all that fun stuff.

I will find a recent one though....soon.

New Blog

I just recently started a new blog! I thought I would dedicate an entire blog to Cystic fibrosis and how it affects Rickie and our family.

If you are so inclined please check it out!

Thanks please go to Rickies Blog

Friday Foto Finish Fiesta

As you can tell by the date of this foto it's 1997, and we were vacationing up-north. I had five kids at the time and Ali(8) is in her Hawaiian print bathing suit, Chelsea (6) has her back to us and Gavin(2) who is now 14 is the little guy.

I especially love this foto because it represents summer to me, lazy days at the lake.

I'll try to update the picture with all six kids next time...

Wednesday (in case you forgot) or commonly called hump-day

Basically, I've been in a perpetually slump...for the passed 48 years, yes I'm 48 (almost 49) *eek*

My daughter is sitting on the floor as I type this laughing at me! (she thinks I'm a nerd) No, she doesn't she says. but, I think secretly she does.

My son is standing behind me saying I'm paranoid. Wow, teenagers they're so much fun. Is it time to go back to school yet? I'm telling you right now if it was, I'd be doing the happy dance!

Chelsea's going to camp on Sunday *yeah* OK, shes my favorite girl ( she is sitting right next to me) Candidcarrie thinks Chelsea's got pretty awesome hair, which she got from me. Thank you.

Isn't it funny how when your kids have an attribute like great hair, or intelligence, or they're really good at something they have to of gotten it from someone...sure, we all do it. The truth is they are who they are just because. That's what I think anyway, of course looks....they really do get from me! ha...just kidding.

Yet, when they do something wrong or get into trouble it's the other persons kid...."Your daughter or son did blah...blah...blah today!!!"

Yeah, we're pretty weird over here...and I'm getting bored with myself so I have to go for now. I will be posting pictures of our kitten who is 8 weeks now! Can you believe it?

So, until next time people...

Raindrops keep falling on my head...

I have to say, that it's been one of the rainiest summers that I can remember. So far we've had 21.11in of rain and last year we only had 11.75. Taken from walker, weather, MI

Listen, I'm not complaining. I love what the rain does to our grass, plants and flowers....green, green, green.

Recently, I also learned that our cost of water went up 100% since last year.

Don't worry we contribute to our public works, with 8 in our family we do our share of laundry and not to mention showers!

When the kids were little I could fit them all in the bathtub at once and save a bunch on water usage... I think the most I fit in the tub at once was three and there were legs and arms everywhere. I washed them in an assembly line, and when they got out, the same thing ~ those were the days.

I was telling my friend the other day, that we thought it was hard when they were little. In actuality it was the easy times...yes, it's difficult at times not getting sleep, doing everything for them, but at least you know where there at, you can put them to bed when you want, feed them healthy food etc.

When there teenagers--watch out! That's when the real work starts.

You worry about them when there gone (especially if they drive) You don't have any say during the summer on bedtimes. You certainly cannot make them dress the way you want them to dress. It's just a whole new ballgame.

Let me ask you this how did a post about water, morph into a post about teenagers--see what they do to me! (good grief) Well it's been a while this whole blogging thing....I'll work on sticking to one subject next time!

It's good to be back! :)

Detroit Tigers Vs. Cleveland Indians

Tonight the boys are going to the baseball game! How much more summer can you get...

It reminds me of my youth, when my brothers were in little league and they had the All Star games. It was not only special because they made the team, but that they played under the lights! Let me tell you that was huge!

You would of thought they were superstars. At least that's what I thought of them. My older brother Dave was the best catcher ever. Seriously, he was. I loved watching him play--throwing off his mask, so that he could catch a foul ball! Wow, I was impressed!

Rick my younger brother played second base he was awesome too.

One thing you don't know about me is that, I thought my brothers were the coolest, nicest guys in the whole entire universe.

I could say bad things about them (when I was angry with them) but you'd better never say anything bad about them!

The fact that my husband is taking our two sons to the baseball game tonight, reminded me of them both, and how much I miss them.

Anyway, back to the game... My husband is from Ohio, so naturally he's rooting for the Indians and we do live in MI, so our boy's will be rooting for the Tigers! It should be a fun night out for the guys!

Go Tigers! and to be fair Go Indians!

Update

Hello all! This is not what I wanted to start blogging again about, yet it is my life and seems I have to take the good with the bad. Rickie was released from the hospital last week, although he is still sick.

A nasty virus is going around and it sure knocked him on his rear. Good news it didn't turn in to a CF exacerbation. That was the doc's concern.

A lot more updates to come!

Thanks everyone for your comments and well wishes, I really appreciate all of them:)
