I love this picture...childhood, dog days of summer, imagination, adventures.

This foto reminds me of a Disney Movie. They were battling boys against the girls, I think Chloe was with them as well...she took the foto. (wouldn't want to leave her out) So, I will take this foto and enlarge it and hang it with all of the other thousands of memories hanging on our walls.

Two wonderful Women...

I was thinking really hard today...I know it's hard to believe..hahaha seriously, about what to talk about, or share with you and I'm coming up short.

I was supposed to show you pictures of our vacation and the problem with that is, I don't have any really good pictures. :(

I'm not humorous like candidcarrie. The way she describes the most mundane things for example: counting money (in the privacy of her bedroom) or when her kids go back to school singing her song "My Kids Are Gone" song to the lyrics of "My boyfriends back". The list goes on and on. How does she come up with this stuff? She must have a million ideas in that head of hers. And her camping trips, she's brilliant I tell you! I know everyone that comes here has read her blog and if by a slim chance you haven't just click here . You better start from the beginning she's just too funny to miss even one post.

Another blogger who is a fascinating person and a brilliant writer is RBK's Realm. She is Originally from New Delhi, India. She's been in the US for twenty years and she calls it home now. She is a single mom and has a son who is in college.

When I first started reading her blog, I was and still am fascinated with her life. She talks about her arranged marriage, myths about India and so much more! I swear she is a walking encyclopedia. Please, please check her out and read from cover to cover. You won't be disappointed. Click here.

Thanks.

30 YEAR CLASS REUNION!

Last weekend August 16, 2008, we had our reunion. I have to tell you I was nervous. I have seen some of my classmates throughout the years and at our 20 year. But, this is 30 years, think about it...most of you out there are around that age or younger! That's a long time ago. Anyway, I was nervous...let me back up and tell you...I leave out a lot of details when I post so, getting here was almost next to impossible. (I'll just leave it at that)

We have a celebrity in our class of 1978, and if you are up on Broadway and directors/choreographers, you'll know exactly who I'm talking about! The Tony Award winning...Jerry Mitchell!! Yes, it's true, I grew up with him...I even went to a movie with him in Middle School! How cool is that!

The reunion was awesome, I had a blast. They were mean and didn't put name tags on us...wanted to see if we could recognize each other or something. Some of the guys...had no clue who they were! Would of walked right on by, had I seen them on the street.

Another classmate had a band back in High School and he was there...jamming to "Smoke On The Water" He played it so much back then, silly me thought he wrote the song! Whatever!

Girlfriend, Bekki, (her husband)Dan and me, dude behind me, not a clue who he is, think he crashed the reunion.

Mary, Jerry, me, Bekki and Gail

We had a lot more people in the other room...when people send me pictures I'll show you some more great shots!

Go to Candid Carrie and see some great fotos!

The Truth and a lie--- The Truths

I ran my first Marathon in 2004 in Detroit...as you can see by the picture the time--my actual time was 3:52:46! Not too bad considering I had many injuries while training...for my age bracket I had to run it by 4 hours!

This is me over there on the horse! In 1977 I was 17 years old and I qualified for the World Championships. I went and got third in the world!

Concerning sky-diving...no way in a million years would I jump out of a plane. On the other hand my parents sky-dived all the time while I was growing up, as did my two brothers.

So unfortunately nobody won my little fun game!

Two Truths and a Lie

First, the picture over there is of my friend Gillian and myself toasting you good luck before we play the game--Two truths and a Lie

Here's the deal, I tell you two statements, that are true about me and one lie.

Easy...right, you think you know me? Well, we will find out.

Post your answers in the comments and I will announce the winner on Thursday at 5pm.

hint: you might find some of the answers in my previous posts.

1. In 1977 I went to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the AQHA World Championship's and placed Third in Jumping and fourth in Working Hunter.

2. The first time I ran a Marathon--I qualified for Boston!

3. I sky-dived when I was two months pregnant (unknowingly pregnant)

I want to pass this on: The winner hosts next Wednesday's game. :)

Good Luck!

8:17pm
UPDATE--OK since nobody's participating the winner does not have to host! OK, so start playing.

I'm thinking it's a lot more fun with a group of people sitting around!! :)

Well, this is the first time, that I've won something that I haven't really worked for! So basically, I am so honored (even though I certainly don't deserve the award) that's beside the point.

The award is called--"Kick Ass Bloggers" you can see the thingy on the right hand side over there...isn't it cool?

Puppy Love

Have I told you lately that I love you...

Twistin the night away...

You wear it well..

Angel came down from heaven yesterday...

Ever seen a blind man cross the road Tryin' to make the other side...

Reason to believe...

Tonights the night...

I love Rod Stewart...have for a very long time, let's see...I think I started listening to him the summer of going into eighth grade.

I started liking him because of a boy, our neighbor. You see he thought he was Rod Stewart...yes he did and quite frankly he looked like him as well. My girlfriend and I started going over to his house and listening to music with them, I say them because his friend was there with him. They were a lot older than we were. You know how girls mature way before boys do, well we looked older and more mature I'm sure.

I think they were, now don't gasp or anything, but I'm thinkin they were seniors or juniors in high school! Yes, older men. (don't worry they were gentlemen) So, we would sneak over there and listen to Rod Stewart for hours, while they sang a long, mainly my guy did.

My parents eventually found out that I was going over there and forbid me to see him again. He did give me Rod Stewart albums to listen to so of course I had to give them back. We lived in the country so... geez...I put them in the middle of the road for him to get, as he drove by.

I made myself not like him because I was tired of all the sneaking around. He was such a nice kid and I will always remember him through listening to Rod Stewart. Which by the way I'm going to tonight with my husband! And even though I'll think of him, I've moved on. But that first crush or puppy love will always stay with you.

So, in honor of the concert tonight and my first crush I'll leave you with this...

You, got mail!

How do you make a six year olds day? You send them something in the mail! Everyday when we check the mail someone will say..."Did I get anything, Mom?"

And my answer to them is..."No, you have to write or send something to get something?"

Well, today was different...I went to the bottom of the stairs...that's where our mailbox is, and whoa and behold...Rickie received mail...

Me-- "Rickie, come here...you got something in the mail!"

He comes running up the stairs from the basement with a big fat grin on his face.

Rickie-- "I did?"

Me--"Yes, come here and open it!"

Rickie tore into the envelope.

Rickie--"Wow, look mom...money!"

Me--"Its so cool, it's a card let's read it!"

Hello Rickie

This is the second thing I am sending you because the first thing I sent to you came back to me all goofed so , I get to do "do-over" on that one!

I saw this card at Target and I had to buy it because it reminded me of the pillow case you were resting on in a picture I saw of you. You look very handsome laying on a pile of money :)

It finally got to be summer in Wisconsin and it is way too hot for me. We have had very exciting rain storms with thunder and lightening and hail. The hail was very exciting and some of my kids went outside to walk in the hail. Not me! No thank you.

Then when the sun came out we had a true double rainbow. It was so cool to see.

Bye, from Wisconsin, Carrie

Carrie--You made a six year olds day! Thank you so much. Not only are you one of the funniest ladies in blog-land, but you have one of the biggest hearts!

p.s. she also sent him a pad of paper and on the front it read:

Rickie--Use this note paper to make lists of stuff you want your mom to do for you!! Ha Ha
