Today's Run

Today was a lot of fun. Got the kids off to school and went on my run. Although it was a bit different this time! I met Mandy, a photographer for the Detroit Free Press. She was great--it was heady having someone drive in front of you, just to stop in the middle of the road and take your picture. All the while I'm pretending I don't see her and just 'on my run'.

I'm still trying to figure out why they're doing a story on me...

I was cracking up though while I was running, trying to look cool and everything. She followed me for quite a ways. I naturally wanted to stop a couple of times but my ego got in the way, and I kept on running. I had a killer workout today!

Talking to me?

I received a phone call today and it really caught me off guard. A reporter from the Detroit Free Press called and wanted to interview me. She wanted to talk to me about running the Mackinaw Bridge and also my life!

They are sending photographers over tomorrow morning, while I run. Pretty cool huh?

I'll update you tomorrow.

Still wondering why? * Hmmmmm*

Love,

Carey

Record Day!

Today is a record day!

A record for what you might say?

Well, this happens to be the longest stretch of time that Rickie has not coughed!

My mind allows me to think about other things-maybe for an hour or two. But, this is huge for me. Almost like Rickie is normal. Mind you, he has treatments everyday still for 30 minutes at a time. Yet, this is all doable. He's able to run and play with his friends, laugh without coughing up a lung! (figuratively speaking of course) haha

We have so much to be thankful for. We never appreciated how precious our health was until it's taken away. Or have a child with a life shortening disease and see how quickly you appreciate good health.

I am thankful for everyday that we can love, laugh and play and build memories. I hope that everyone that reads this post is thankful for something in their life...(I'm sure they are)

I just have to be reminded, at times to take the good with the bad, and move forward always smiling and to be thankful.

Love you guys,

Carey

Six people that I am very thankful for!

Where do you go?

Sometimes people have dreams-day dreams and dreams you have from a sound sleep. You wake-up one morning and think, " boy, I loved that dream." I really want to go back there.

This is my dream, when I've gone through low times in my life. I choose to go here. I searched the Internet and found what it might look like. Not exactly, the cottage I want to go to, but close. I go here when I want peace and quiet in my life. To just ponder on my decisions and choices I've made. Very spiritual at times.

I'm sure others have places they might go when feeling down or reflective. If anyone would like, share where you might go. Or if you don't do this think about it. You can bring anyone you'd like to your place. I suppose this could be your second life in your head. Just a thought it works for me. :)

Love, Carey
