Yesterday, my third daughter was home from school ill. Actually, she's been home all week and yesterday was the first day that she felt a bit better so naturally we cleaned out her room.
When the oldest lived at home (three years ago) they shared a room. I'm backing up here so that you can follow my train of thought. (not many people can you know)
Ali, the oldest had just graduated, and her Grandmother gave her this beautiful locket. She wore it once. She wore it once, and lost it. She was beside herself.
This brings us to yesterday, cleaning sick daughters room out. You know where I'm headed with this don't you? We found it in all places a jewelry box! Go figure. To be fair it was in Grama Pat's jewelry box (Ric's mom) We have no idea how it got there...this brings us to the picture of Ali with Ric on her graduation day with the locket!
This is sickie Hannah in her room. Isn't she a cutie! Oh yeah, when you clean out a room you also get more bonuses! I found two borders gift cards as well, and I'm using them! Who knows whose they are...I figure I earned them!!
Go to Candid Carrie and check out a lot of great FOTOS because, today IS Friday Foto Finish Fiesta!!

that's ALMOST incentive enough for me to get cleaning. almost.
i bet i would find some pretty interesting things.
great news about the necklace, too!
Finders keepers ...or cleaners keepers!
I am hope she feels better soon!
I'm so glad ya'll found the locket.
Your sickie daughter slightly resembles my sickie daughter... Is she better now? Did she have fever and a headache?
so sorry she is sick...hope she feels better soon. And don't you love finding things months later, you thought were missing!!
I wish I would find stuff like that when I clean, but all I get is dust bunnies and other unmentionables. Hope your daughter feels better.
I got a little nostalgic when I saw your header. I went to school in Philly and used to go swing dancing at Penn's landing. Boy, do I miss those days!
At this point, I don't care what kind of incentive you give me, I am so not cleaning my house today!
I spent my day off yesterday going to business after business after business looking for donations for a fundraiser. 50 places!!! Ugh.
I deserve a lazy day today, I think!
She is a cutie, and glad to hear she is feeling better.
I can only imagine what I'd find in my daughter's room if I ever decided to clean it!
Hooray hooray!
LOL - Your cleaning experience made me feel better. I have found gift cards, uncashed cheques and best of all notebooks from school that I have sat and cried over because this all male young man of mine has written the soppiest of middle school essays about how much he appreciated what his single mom did for him... It is amazing how one's frustration can turn into mush over such findings..
Hope your girl feels better and I am hoping for similar good luck in finding my own jewelry that I have misplaced now for years - or at least I hope it is misplaced.
Love reading your life as mom as you are clearly a terrific one!
I am off to clean in hopes that I find a bag of chocolate! PMS :(
Come clean my room out and maybe you will find my wedding rings. Yes I haven't been able to find them for a year now. I have ripped my house apart. I can't talk about it anymore. I'm glad you found the locket.
I'm with you...enjoy the gift cards. Cleaning rooms is like a treasure hunt. Someone is bound to get a treat.
If you haven't already...check out my yummy Valentine's give-a-way. :D
Oh, good about finding the locket. And good(er) about the gift cards. I use that same line of thinking when I find money in pockets while doing the laundry. hehe
I have an award at my place for you.
