Puppy Love

Have I told you lately that I love you...

Twistin the night away...

You wear it well..

Angel came down from heaven yesterday...

Ever seen a blind man cross the road Tryin' to make the other side...

Reason to believe...

Tonights the night...

I love Rod Stewart...have for a very long time, let's see...I think I started listening to him the summer of going into eighth grade.

I started liking him because of a boy, our neighbor. You see he thought he was Rod Stewart...yes he did and quite frankly he looked like him as well. My girlfriend and I started going over to his house and listening to music with them, I say them because his friend was there with him. They were a lot older than we were. You know how girls mature way before boys do, well we looked older and more mature I'm sure.

I think they were, now don't gasp or anything, but I'm thinkin they were seniors or juniors in high school! Yes, older men. (don't worry they were gentlemen) So, we would sneak over there and listen to Rod Stewart for hours, while they sang a long, mainly my guy did.

My parents eventually found out that I was going over there and forbid me to see him again. He did give me Rod Stewart albums to listen to so of course I had to give them back. We lived in the country so... geez...I put them in the middle of the road for him to get, as he drove by.

I made myself not like him because I was tired of all the sneaking around. He was such a nice kid and I will always remember him through listening to Rod Stewart. Which by the way I'm going to tonight with my husband! And even though I'll think of him, I've moved on. But that first crush or puppy love will always stay with you.

So, in honor of the concert tonight and my first crush I'll leave you with this...

Isn't it funny, how memories of the first crush or puppy love remain vivid in our minds, years later even after so much has happened in between... That was cute and makes me realize once again that kids all over the world have the same growing up pains and the parents the same concerns... Growing up in New Delhi, believe me, it was not much different- the sneaking around to meet your heart throb... LOL

GET OUT OF HERE!

Do you have any idea how many times I have seen Rod Stewart?

I saw him during the Down Town Train Tour. Unplugged and Sitting Down Tour, and two other tours that I can't remember the names of. I love Twisting The Night Away.

Oh, wave a tiny light for me please. And sing along to Broken Arrow.
